Jewellery designer, Michele White RBSA, invites you to a virtual tour of her garden, which features a roof garden atop a World War II air raid shelter.

Cat’s Whiskers Garden

Michele closed her Jewellery Quarter gallery, Artisan Alchemy, when lockdown began and has spent the last 7 weeks working in her garden. Developed over 38 years, the garden retains its 1923 landscape and spans over 3 levels.

The garden, named Cat’s Whiskers, is featured on National Garden Scheme, a scheme that raises money for nursing and health charities. National Garden Scheme have taken their garden tours online for the duration of lockdown for people to enjoy at home.

Returning to Jewellery Design

Michele recently returned to working alone in her workshop, and shared that it has been difficult designing jewellery again after a 7 week break.

“For me, the only way is to get going and just make anything. The result may not turn out to be up to the standard I would want but it gets the wheels turning.”

Currently employing two members of staff at Artisan Alchemy, Michele will reopen her gallery when it is safe to do so. She is looking for new staff members when reopening, with excellent social media and customer service skills. For more information on this opportunity, contact info@michelewhite.com
