MARIETTA — Marietta Main Street’s first Marietta Ice Festival will be held 3-7 p.m. Saturday in the downtown.
Seventeen carved ice sculptures will be on display, each created by local artist Tyson Whistler, Marietta Main Street said.
Kicking off at 3 p.m. will be a live sculpture carving by Whistler on the lawn of the Armory and other activities provided by Glenwood Community.
The sculptures will be set up outside businesses on Front, Second, Greene and Putnam streets. The businesses that sponsor the project get the sculptures. The ice sculptures will be lighted at night.
This event will be held rain or shine and is free and open to all.
