
Call for entries: The RBSA Prize Exhibition 2020

The RBSA stages an annual Prize exhibition to provide opportunities for artists to show their artwork and be rewarded for their talents. One of the RBSA’s most prominent exhibitions of the year, the Prize Exhibition aims to reduce some of the common barriers to exhibiting such as limited budgets and time.⠀
Key Dates
- Applications open: 15 July
- Entry Deadline: 4pm 19 August
- Selected artists announced: 9 September
- Delivery of work: Sunday 4 October 10.30 – 4pm
- Prize Exhibition Dates: 8 October – 21 November

GMC Trust First Prize: £1,000
GMC Trust Second Prize: £500
Tim Dabson 3D Prize: £100
Alec Morison Watercolour Prize: £600
Arthur Lockwood Memorial Prize for artist aged 35 or under: £300
Rosemary and Co: £250 voucher for brushes/materials
The Artist Magazine: Two Year Subscription
Up to 6 Highly Commended certificates will also be awarded

Entry Requirements
Artists working in the UK and internationally are welcome to enter. All media, excluding photography, is accepted.
Artists aged 35 and under receive a 50% discount on entry fees and artwork exhibited at the RBSA in the last 5 years may be entered.⠀

Selection
This year’s exhibition will be selected by: Graham Chorlton, Artist and Senior Lecturer in Fine Art,
Coventry University and Julie Brown, Collections Curator, New Art Gallery Walsall.
Entry Fees
Artists may enter up to four pieces of work.
- Free for Next Wave Associates
- 50% discount for artists under 35 (Please provide proof on delivery of artwork)
- 50% discount for small 3D objects under 40cms
1 entry: £19, 2 entries: £32, 3 entries: £40, 4 entries: £48

About Us
The Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA) is an artist-led charity which supports artists and promotes engagement with the visual arts through a range of exhibitions, events and workshops.
The RBSA runs an exhibition venue – the RBSA Gallery – in Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter, a short walk from the city centre.
The gallery is open from 10.30am – 5pm on Tuesday – Saturday. Admission is free.
